Off Topic

Occasionally I will be posting things that have nothing to do with Filling My Freezer. Today is one of those days. Instead of showing you how I fill my freezer I will tell you how God is filling my soul.........

I have been nastily sick this past week, allergies that have turned into multiple infections. It's something that I deal with every Spring and have tried just about everything under the sun to no avail. It either doesn't work or I fall into the 1% category of people who have a bad reaction to certain medications. So I deal with it. My main issue is usually my ears. They get infected pretty easy, yes I know I am like a 3 year with ear infections :o)

This week it has got pretty bad and I have lost most of my hearing in one ear, yes now I am like an 80 year old...eehh, what did you say, I can't hear you! Instead of normal hearing I hear my pulse (you know the sound of a baby's heart beat on the monitor thing? That's what I hear). During the day it is just annoying but gets drowned out by all the background noise. But at night? Well at night I feel like I could go insane. Well, I wasn't going to have insanity hit me last night so I grabbed my ear phones and my i*pod and went to bed. I hit the category marked "worship music" and turned it up loud enough to drown out the "heartbeat" in me ear and then rested sweetly in worshipping my Lord until I fell asleep.

I have to tell you it was such a wonderful time with God I had. The song the struck me the most was, "I need thee every hour". Every time I hear that song my heart simple clings to the words.

"I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord; no tender voice like Thine can peace afford.
I need Thee, O Lord I need Thee, EVERY hour I need Thee. O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee.
I need Thee every hour in JOY or PAIN, come quickly and abide or life is vain.
I need Thee, O Lord I need Thee, EVERY hour I need Thee. O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee."

We do need the Lord in EVERY single hour of EVERY single day. Whether life is going bad or good. It is in the times of JOY that I forget that I still need him. It is in the times of JOY that HE is truly blessing me and I should cling to Him even sweeter.

I pray that you are all receiving the true JOY of the Lord today and that you remember to thank Him for the peace in your life and for blessing you as He has. Don't just cling to Him in rough times, cling to HIM in the easy times!

Happy Cooking and the Lord's Blessings!

What an encouraging post. Thank you. Rather than complain or fret about your ear infection, you turned a bad situation into a remarkable one of faith.

I hope your infection clears up quickly. God bless you.

I Need Thee Every Hour is one of my all time favorite hymns that I haven't heard in years! I will head to bed in a few minutes humming it!
